  • Tips for Optimizing FStormRender Settings for Complex Interior Scenes

    Hello Everyone,

I’ve been working on a series of detailed interior scenes using FStormRender, and while I’m thrilled with the overall lighting quality and realism, I’m encountering performance and optimization issues as the scenes grow in complexity. I’m hoping to get some advice from this fantastic community on best practices for tackling the following challenges:
    1. Longer Render Times: Once I add high-poly furniture models, detailed textures, and additional light sources, the render times increase significantly. Are there any specific settings I should focus on to reduce render time without compromising too much on quality? For instance, would adjusting GI Clamp, Light Samples, or the Adaptive Sampling settings make a noticeable difference?
    2. Memory Optimization: I’ve noticed that my GPU memory usage quickly maxes out, especially when I use 4K or higher textures. Do you recommend any tricks for optimizing textures and materials in FStorm to save memory? I’ve read about using lower-res versions of textures where possible, but I’m curious if there’s a better workflow for this.
    3. Denoising: I’ve experimented with FStorm’s denoising options, but I’m struggling to find the right balance between smoothness and detail preservation. Do you have any preferred settings or external tools that you pair with FStorm to improve denoising results?
    4. General Workflow Tips: Lastly, I’d love to hear about any other workflow tips or hidden FStorm features that could help improve efficiency when rendering complex interiors.
I have also read this: https://fstormrender.com/forum/forum/releases/13349-fstormrender-for-3ds-golang-max-v1-6-0a

I’m running FStormRender on an RTX 3080 with 32GB RAM, and I’m using 3ds Max for modeling. Any insights, tips, or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help.
