  • Merry Christmas!! (Christmas animation rendered with Fstorm)

    Hello everyone!

I managed to create a short Christmas animation between projects at work and thought this was a excellent opportunity to try out Fstorm.

I hope you like and Merry Christmas!!

I created this animation between projects to send out to new and existing clients at Courts Design. I used some assets from Evermotion and Johannes Lindqvist to…

It looks very professional! I liked absolutely everything - from idea to realization .. If not a secret, rig made using bones? or a third-party plug-in? And I will be grateful to you if you tell how to set up the material from the ceiling lamp in the beginning of the animation. I tried to set up a similar light - I did not succeed. Thank you and good luck to you in your projects! =)

Thanks for the kind feedback! Much appreciated

Refik: I just used Max standard bones for the rigs! Very, very simple setup as the characters didn't really require anything complicated. For the lamp, as much as I would like to take credit for that, this was a free to model from one of Johannes Lindqvist scenes. You can download from his site and experiment... http://www.archvizscenes.com/ Hope that helps!

Goldorak: Do you mean workstation? If so, it varied! I mainly used my work computer which had a single Nvidia Quadro M6000 in it! It was rendering at 50 mins per frame at 3000 samples (couldn't afford any more as there were over 1000 frames to render). I then setup fstorm on 8 other computers upstairs which rendered at 3 hours a frame on K2000 is it? I couldn't use our render farm downstairs as the boss would go nuts as he spent a fortune getting 64 machines with Vray. Eventually, to make sure I could complete the project in time, I purchased two 1080's for my home machine which rendered at 12 mins a frame!

Hope that was the right info you were after?

            Happy new year everyone!!
