Hey guys, I've run this test again on the same gear, but this time I've plugged my monitor to integrated VGA on a MB. I started the rendering and worked in Photoshop for all time with no lag and results came 1 minute faster than before.

Thought that it might be interesting to somebody.

    Render version: 0.3.6a
Config: ASUS GTX 1070 (i5-6600k, 32 GB RAM)
    Render time:
12:49 (with connected display, no browsing or drawing in photoshop while rendering),
11:59 (no display connected to GPU, youtube running, working on a highres image in Photoshop).

Just decided to take a dive into the GPU world of rendering. Updated my Quadro k4200 to two ASUS Strix 1080s. Ran the benchmark before and after the upgrade, both in Max 2014, Fstorm 0.3.6.

      Quadro K4200 - 68m38s
      2 x GTX 1080 - 6m18s

Pretty excited to play with these and FStorm.

Hi Karba, I got very high render time with this benchmark and I don't know why, I mean I can see 960 with less cuda cores (1024) going 25min and so faster than my GTX 780 with 2304 cuda cores and despite different generation got usually a benchmark closer if not faster, so I stopped the render at 25:40 and the image was like this from the last 5 min or so and look pretty decent to me..but still 1084 samples.. normal? Or is actually about 40 min for that spec of mine? ( can't wait for my 1070 to knock my door )

              Nvidia drivers 375.63

You have to let it to finish the render. Estimation time doesn't take adaptivity effect into account. Render time in your case would be arounf 30-35 mins, I think.

RT was faster in my test.. Double checked.

                          It's 16 seconds slower!

                          https://1drv.ms/f/s!ApgW1w9Sr3Ffgo4RtWiQ2ZNsjMvJog

Maybe it's because you use multigpu and I don't. You could bench one gpu to clarify if RT is in fact slower for single gpus.

I tried it today with only 1 gpu enabled, and RT was 10-15 seconds faster for me ( 0.3.7a + 375.70 nvidia driver)

                        Tested with New version 3.7
                        3x1070 OC'ed 4:05

                        0.3.6a score was 4:17
                        Great!!

                        .....EDIT.....
RT Render was faster than the Max Production Render.
                        RT Render took 3:52

Hi Karba, could you let us know whether the difference between Gtx 1070 and 1080 is a permanent thing or whether tuning to Cuda 8 is somehow going to let 1080 score where its price indicates it should.

Im building a 4x box but dont know which cards to put in 1070 or 1080.

So my gtx is too fast for the list or what?

Will this benchmark score change after Fstorm optimizations have been made for Cuda 8?
