    Hello mitviz.

    This time I am illuminating you

    8GB - 6,85GB = 1,25GB -> this amount is being used only for opening Max and other software.

    So, 3,76 + 1,25 = 5,01GB -> which is the amount indicated by MSI.

    FStorm indicates the memory exclusively used for itself (without counting the VRAM used by other, like your 1,25GB "lost"), and the memory free which could be used. Try, for example, to conect your HDMI to your motherboard instead of your 1080 and you will see that the amount of free memory is increased up to 7 or 7,5GB maybe.

      Oh, yes, I was a little wrong with my stimation, but alsmost the same. I usually have 4,9GB free of 6, so I lose 1,1GB. You lost 1,25GB. It simply depends of the softwares you have opened, etc. If you want to have a little more free, close 3DS Max and open it again. And for a little more, restart the PC. With a refresh start I have seen 5,5GB free. So you are in normal values, don't worry.
