displacement (rug) floating

hey all -

i've got a rug resting on carpet. the displacement modifier has the rug sorta floating above the ground plane (carpet) a bit. anyway to reduce this gap?

it's an expected behaviour, try moving down the center of displacement or model the edges with correct normals

eventually edit your bitmap (unwrapped) and make the edges a 50% grey
