  • Material override

Sometimes I need to go back to a white material to check if the lighting is ok.
Is it possible to implement a material override feature?
    Thanks.

Yep please make sure it has an object include and exclude list, not just a global override.

      cheers

object include/exclude is hard to make on GPU

Not only white diffuse material please.... It would be perfect if it's custom material override.
What I have in mind is a check box which turns all the object's materials in the scene to White Diffuse material.
And there is a material slot button where you can drag and drop the material of your choice for any custom material.

When those are implemented. the next step would be include exclude type of things .
For example an interior render. All the object are white diffuse (or custom material)
Then you exclude curtain object. or SSS lamp cloth object So you have great control of lighting with optimized single material override. with exclude I mean the curtains and sss lamp cloth object keep their original materials.

And I think it is nothing to do directly with gpu and can be done?
it doesn't have to be interactive at all. We can refresh the RT render viewport.

            Thanks

Yes it's could be a cool option. But you don't think it would be great that Dron first focus on is majors feature to implement. Like displacement for example.

Of course, it simply is not a feature I demand that should be implemented quickly. I just hinted my thought on that issue. And adding features are great but would be great to have the feature in complete form.

On that regard, Dron alreadyknows what and when to do and creates magic..

I don't want to make these things too complicated.
