  • FStorm RT in Max Viewport

    Hi Andrey

One of the things that makes Octane and Vray great from a look-dev point of view in activeshade, is the ability to activate Corona interactive in the viewport (Extended Viewport>Corona Interative), or Vray RT in the Viewport (Extended Viewport>Activeshade).

Everything is done in Max 'workspace', eg: you can isolate an object and assign a viewport as activeshade/interactive for shading purposes - it's easy and quick. This is a lot better than having to open yet another window (FS Frame Buffer) to run activeshade/interactive for shading (when typically there may be many windows already open).

I would be fantastic if FS can achieve the same. There could be a GPU stats overlay (like Vray RT) in the viewport - with option to turn this on or off in render settings (shows noise/samples/RAM etc).

If this is possible, please allow for switching the activeshade/RT viewport to have safe frames on and off ,eg:
If the viewport to have RT activated has safeframes on, then will RT that viewport with safeframes - in turn increasing performance but also allowing for review of scene composition/lighting etc at aspect ratio. With no safe frames activated in RT viewport, then this is optimal for shading individual piece purposes - example the attached screenshot this object would not be shaded with safe frames on as would be frustrating.

Many people have reported custom frame buffer works much better than active shade for most renders.

I mean, can i render a final image just with the RT mode?

Yes, if it's a still image you should, it's comfortable
