    As the light has a "directional" option, when in use with a texture as color, it would be great to have a sharp texture projected. For now, even with a minimum angle of 1, the texture is still very blur.

    you can use ies file for proper pattern.

      I need to cast animated caustics on the ocean's ground, so I don't think IES can handle this.

        you can put fstorm bitmap with spherical environment mode.

          I'm not sure to understood your solution. I need to project a bitmap on a mesh, like ocean's caustics or like the pattern of a torchlight.

            You create a bitmap with caustic pattern panorama. Set bitmap mapping in spherical environment mode. and place this bitmap to light source texture.

              Ok, I was testing with plane light, obviously I have to use sphere, thank you. It would be great to have planar projection too.

                +1 for me...too blurred projection for faked caustics and other stuff
