  • ability to preview noise map in viewport

    so far i am unable to to do this, is there some way that i don't know of?

    From Andrey:
    Only FStormBitmap texture can be shown in 3ds max viewport.
    Noise is a procedural texture. It can't be shown properly on 3ds max viewport.
    color correction and output just change base texture which can be any.
    gradient can be shown in 3ds max viewport. I will implement it.

      well that's where the issue is, if we cant see the noise its really hard to use it to see what it will look like

        Right. Anyway we can use RT region or maximize mat preview

      Noise is 3d. 3ds max viewport can't show 3d textures, only 2d which is useless in this case.

        wish there was a representation of this somehow like the ability we have now to preview noise with 3ds max native noise map

      Just try to render 3ds max native noise. You will see it looks very differently with 3ds max viewport.
