  • Saving true 32bit exr (or half float)?

Am I doing something wrong, I can't seem to save 32bit exr from the framebuffer. When importing the exr into PS/AE they only contain 8bit information. There's no problem saving 32bit exr when using Vray or Corona.

    Thanks
    Peter

FStorm uses 3ds max image saver. Looks like 3ds max exr saver is buggy. You can try to use hdr, or tiff.

Unfortunately that doesnt work either. I've turned off "Tone Mapping" so I guess everything should fine for 32bit output. Is there any other options, that might influence this?

EDIT : I've tried the scene in Vray and made two renders, from the 3ds max framebuffer and Vray framebuffer. Saving both as 32bit exr, and both working perfectly in PS.

hdr works flawless, exr is still not usable with fstorm.

You problem is that pixels values are clamped or have low precision?

Made a simple test scene, and got it working. Tone Mapping ofcourse has to be off and then I had to save it as a HDR (non real color) Now I'll try again with my other scene.
