  • HDRI Rotation

    Hi,

Just wanted to find out please how to rotate the direction of the HDRI sun. I try to rotate using the rotation spinners in the bitmap but I get mapping issues. I'm using spherical mapping. How can I rotate the whole HDRI without causing a line in the sky. Cheers.

What do you mean line in the sky? Is HDRI broken in viewport or FS RT (vertical line)?
You must be trying to rotate using 'Rotation' on U? Use 'Offset' on U to rotate HDRI horizontally in FStorm Bitmap parameters.

      Hi mate,

No luck. Offsetting doesn't seem to work at all which leads me to believe there is something wrong. Im using a Peter Guthrie HDRI

Worked it out. If I put a 0.01 in the rotation and then use offset it works. Seems like it just needs a value in the rotation for the offset to work. Now I can move the HDRI sun anywhere I want. Cheers.

Hello, thanks for solving the problem but isnt this a little bit too confusing?

texture offset should work without any extra rotation.
            1.0 u offset means 360 degree rotation(pointless)
            0.25 u offset means 90 degree rotation.

So why not use this unit for these fields? that would be much more intuitive This is valid for many fields in FStorm UI.
