22 January 2017 (finally) Moscow City Court prepeared motivation part of the decision.

It says:
"Taking into account the foregoing, the court comes to the conclusion that the plaintiff has not proved that the computer program FStormRender placed on the site https://fstormrender.com is identical to the computer program OctaneRender, as well as the fact of placement and use of the computer program “OctaneRender” on the site https://fstormrender.com under the name "FStormRender", and accordingly the violation of its exclusive rights to the computer program OctaneRender."

It is pretty obvious for everyone and even for the Court, that FStormRender is not a renamed copy of OctaneRender. For everyone except Otoy... Otoy applied an appeal on 28 December 2017 to the decision. 99% chance they will lose the appeal very quickly. If you can't develop anything properly, you don't have any chances to stay alive other than sue people around.

As you can see, a render engine can be developed by a single person. When a whole company with a hundred employees is loosing fair competition to a single developer - there must be something wrong with this company.

Hey congrats! but are you ready to go back to focusing in develop full throttle again? or do you have to wait for something? it would be nice if some one could present you with a "worst case scenario" in case otoy just want to appeal once and once again, what's the worst it could be?

I think octane is not longer your reference... since my first day here your product was already years ahead of octane, but now v-ray came back hard, at least in the speed front the 3.6 RT is a hell of a match and more... wish you good luck, I really hope you can beat it!

Haha, I knew it! That Urbach guy is known in the industry for fabricating so-called "evidence" to deceive investors. Octane's value has been in decline for years, this verdict might be the death blow.

FStorm won.

Otoy has 30 days for appeal, but their chances are almost zero.
After that the website will be unblocked.

I am still waiting for official court doucments. The court is very busy now.
I will post more information once I get it.

News from Russian lawsuit case

The judicial expertise is done.
Here are the results:

1. The source code / code of the computer program "FStormRender" submitted for research is not a reproduction (copy) of the source code / code of the computer program "OctaneRender".

2. In the materials submitted for research, there are no signs that the source code / code of the computer program "FStormRender" is a processing (created on the basis of) the source code / computer program "OctaneRender".

3. In the materials submitted for research, there are no signs that the computer program "FStormRender" is the result of processing (modification) of the computer program "OctaneRender".

4. In the materials submitted for research, there are no signs that the computer program "FStormRender" is the result of the reproduction (copying) of the computer program "OctaneRender".

THE GAME IS NOT OVER YET, but this is quite important step forward.
